Maybe I’ve gotten pickier now that I’m a beauty editor, but it’s for a good reason. I used to be way less conscious about the skincare and makeup I was using on my face. Little did I know I was using pore-clogging products and questionable ingredients galore! Now that I’m a bit more educated, I’m a lot choosier about what I try, and it’s rare that I go berserk for a new brand or its launches. Polite Society, however, is the exception.
Big-ticket holiday items like advent calendars usually come at a premium price point, and that’s for a few reasons: They tend to be limited in quantity, feature elevated packaging (which shouldn’t really matter but also does), and contain myriad products. At best, these beautifully packaged sets offer us anywhere from eight to 25 days of pure unboxing joy. At worst, they end up TikTok-famous for all the wrong reasons.
Naked dresses and boob-window cutouts are slowly taking a back seat to the next big fashion trend on the rise: backless silhouettes. Celebrities are fueling the craze by wearing open-back outfits at red carpet events, fashion shows, and beyond. The phrase “business in the front, party in the back” has never been more applicable.
As lovers of Scandinavian fashion, we can’t help but get excited when an American A-lister puts one of our favorite brands on the map stateside. Yes, Scandi folks have known about the Skall Studio, the women’s ready-to-wear fashion and accessories brand, for ages. But, thanks to a recent rainy day sighting, we can thank Kendall Jenner for directing the spotlight on this Copenhagen-based designer.
