I’m no psychologist, but I really do believe there’s a science (probably worth studying!) behind the effects of wearing gold hoop earrings and the way that the accessory can always manage to make me look good — even when I’m dressed in my absolute worst. I can’t quite explain exactly what it is, but something about donning a pair of even the simplest gold hoops makes me feel infinitely better. When I’m jumping on a Zoom call in my PJs, I can throw a pair on and instantly look put together. If I’m short on time and running out the door for an event, they double as the perfect outfit elevator to sneak into my bag and style in the car. Even when I was recovering from COVID and bedridden for almost two weeks, I made an effort to wear the jewelry piece nearly every day towards the end of my sickness, and I swear they gave me the extra incentive I needed to get out of bed and get back to normal life. Speaking on behalf of all fashion-lovers here: if any doctors are reading this, I’d love a report on the serotonin-boosting benefits of gold hoop earrings, please and thank you!

Hailey Bieber and Taylor Russell Wore the Jacket Trend Every Fashion Girl Wants
When it comes to fashion in 2022, there’s one thing that I am absolutely certain about: If both Taylor Russell and Hailey Bieber wear the same article of clothing, it’s going viral. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it—simply put, their combined influence is too substantial for something they mutually agree on to not make it big. Right now, the item the two of them can’t get enough of is Loewe’s puffer bomber jacket.
Why Do Christmas Films Hate Single People?
How to Be Single does end with some of the characters in relationships. However, main character Alice slips the bonds of couplehood to fulfil her dream of solo hiking the Grand Canyon. “The thing about being single is, you should cherish it,” she says. Try to imagine hearing that line in the world of the Christmas rom-com, where being single is something to be solved. While it’s obviously played for laughs, I found the opening scene of Holidate disturbing, as Emma Roberts’ relatives alternately commiserate and castigate her for her single status. I genuinely cannot imagine a universe in which my loved ones would talk to me like that and yet, here, single-shaming is presented as a casual inevitability. Being single is far from being something to be cherished in Christmas films.
H.E.R.’s “Beauty and the Beast” Costume Honors Her Filipino Heritage
H.E.R. is paying tribute to her Filipino heritage in the upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” ABC special. Ahead of its premiere on ABC Dec. 15, then Disney+ the following day, the network offered first-look photos at the two-hour TV special. H.E.R. (aka Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson) is portraying the lead role of Belle. Based on the sneak peek, the singer–songwriter wears at least three different costumes throughout the special, including takes on Belle’s everyday blue dress, signature yellow ball gown, and pink dress with a matching cape.
