There are so many fantastic items at Nordstrom right now. Period. I recently swept through the new-arrivals section and couldn’t believe how many items I opened into a new tab to note and share with you, dear readers. Below, you’ll uncover an edit of the new pieces I think are too good.
The OG Avanti shoe goes back to 1968 when the original design, the Puma King football boot, was created and eventually popularized by soccer superstars like Pelé, Diego Maradona, and Eusébio. In 1998, luxury designer Jil Sander worked on Puma’s first-ever fashion collaboration and unveiled the Jil Sander King, which fused the aesthetics of the football boot and the heritage Easy Rider jogging shoe. The Avanti then debuted in 2001 as the next iteration of the footwear style.
For spring 2024 fashion trends, designers are focused on balancing polished and classic silhouettes with daring and skin-baring details. And, though New York Fashion Week runways were showing looks that will not hit stores until six months from now, there are spring and summer fashion trends for 2024 you can start wearing immediately — even as the current season begins to turn into crisp fall. Models graced countless catwalks at NYFW debuting flowing black tie skirts, pencil silhouettes, tailored suiting, and more — all crafted in unique and head-turning ways. Staud was a standout when it came to saturated pastel slip skirts, mastering two trends in one. Carolina Herrera took classic and timeless silhouettes and designed sheath dresses of sheer guipure lace, slip skirts in Barbiecore pink, and minidresses with a nod to mod style. Alejandro Alonso Rojas expanded upon her trademark knit crochet textures with silk slip dresses, suiting sets, and fringe detailing that all effortlessly took on lives of their own with the slightest bit of movement. The color of the spring 2024 season? A vibrant shade of lilac. And suiting sets reigned supreme in bright white and soft cream tones. Nostalgia is still a key factor of dressing for spring, as trends of the past are back by way of ’90s slip skirts and ’60s mod silhouettes.
