Is Sabrina Carpenter in her “Lover” era? On Aug. 4, the pop star wore an all-pink outfit with major Taylor Swift vibes during her Lollapalooza performance in Chicago. Carpenter’s ensemble included a heart-shaped pink crop top paired with a micro-miniskirt, also in pink. Her outfit was perfect, especially since she’s set to open for Swift as The Eras Tour heads to Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: My aunt is one of my biggest style inspirations. In my 28 years as her niece, I’ve never seen her looking anything short of ultra-chic and pulled-together, so it should come as no surprise when I tell you that it’s basically her job to help people find their personal style. On Aug. 4, the model wore a Barbie-pink string bikini by The Attico while sipping champagne on the beach with friends — including Amina Muaddi, DJ Fiona Zanetti, and Nikki Hightower — during a European vacation. To beat the heat, Harvey paired the barely-there bikini with a casual Saint Laurent baseball cap in ecru, the perfect contrast to her sparkling champagne glass. Blending in perfectly with the Barbiecore aesthetic, Harvey also wore the hot pink triangle bikini while sunbathing on a paddle board in the middle of the sea. She styled the bikini — perfect for wearing upside-down or as intended — with delicate ankle bracelets on each leg. Between the smile on her face and her stylish outfit, it’s safe to say that Harvey was living the Barbie dream life during her summer getaway. In July, Harvey shared even more sneak peeks at her European summer vacation wardrobe, including a barely-there string bikini with a colorful print. Looking back on Harvey’s past swimwear moments — her extremely low-cut one-piece swimsuit in Turks and Caicos and her low-rise string bikini in Brazil — the model’s fashion savvy is undeniable. Let’s face it, not everyone’s a Barbie girl in a Barbie world. Some of us are Bratz girls. This is true of myself and some of my fellow R29 editors. A big part of their allure was their attitude and style. While Barbie was a pristine and perfect woman, the Bratz gang was the antithesis — edgy teenagers. As Affiliate Writer and Content Producer Esther Newman puts it, “Barbie is trying to be everything, to everyone, all at once. Whereas the Bratz girls know exactly who they are and what they’re about.”
